Snake plants are a really neat easy to care for plant. They are a good starter plant because they require little care. They have long blade like laves shooting out of the dirt in a rosette that spread by runners under the ground. They will fill a pot pretty fast and don't need to be repotted very often. If the pots not falling over from being top heavy than don't worry about repotting just top dress it if it needs it. They like bright light but don't need direct sun. They seem to grow better if they don't get a lot of direct sun. Mine has always liked an eastern exposure but any window except a northern one would probably work. If kept in a southern window you should probably filter the southern winter sun. Water good than let dry out before watering again. they are easy to propagate also. Just take one of the rosettes with some roots and pot in another pot. You will probably have to prop the new plant up with something so it does'nt fall over. You can also cut up a leaf and root the pieces of leaves as well.

Bonnie spider plant. The Bonnie spider plant or curly spider plant is different from other spider plants because the leaves curl. The older and bigger the plant gets the curlier the leaves are.




These are the two spider plants above. They have really grown. The one has shot out tons of runners but the bonnie(curly spider plant) spider palnt has'nt shot any out. It's grown a lot though.








It's gotten tons of runners since I put it out this summer!



Spider plants are easy plants to take care of and are fun to watch grow from a baby plant. Spider plants have long runners that shoot out of the middle of the leaves and have Little white flowers on them where the baby plants will grow. This is how they reproduce. The baby's are easy to start. Just cut one off and either put it in some water or plant in moist soil. If you place in water don't put the whole plant under the water because it could rot. If given the right care they will grow pretty fast. East or west windows have always worked for me. Let them dry out a little before watering again. The leaves usually appear kind of translucent and paler green when they are in need of a drink. Proper care of this plant will reward you with a beautiful plant.

How to propagate an African Violet from a leaf cutting.

You will need
-Your violets
-Scissors
-Aluminum foil
-Small glass,bowl



Cut the stem as close to the plant as you can.



Poke holes in the piece of aluminum foil big enough for the stem to fit through. Fill your glass with water almost to the brim. Wrap the aluminum foil around the top of the glass. Stick the cuttings through the hole and place it somewhere with good light.
